Save Stockport Post Office

Stockport’s main post office is under threat. If it closes, thousands of residents and businesses will lose a vital local service.

The last Conservative government slashed post office funding by three-quarters, putting branches like Stockport’s at risk. Without urgent action, our community could be left without access to essential postal and banking services.

Local MP Lisa Smart and the Lib Dem team are fighting to save vital post office services, like Stockport Post Office. Lisa has been meeting with Post Office Ltd, pressing for solutions, and urging the government to restore proper funding.

Following the announcement of the planned closure, Lisa said: “Stockport Post Office is an essential service for so many people – from pensioners collecting their pensions to small businesses banking their takings. Its closure would be a huge loss to our communities. We need to show just how much this matters to local people and push for a solution before it’s too late.”

Save Stockport Post Office

I/we oppose the closure of Stockport's Post Office. This branch is vital to the community, and we call on Post Office Ltd to reverse its decision and keep it open.
