Hazel Grove
Councillor Frankie Singleton
Frankie is committed to getting the best deal for our area. She lives in the heart of Hazel Grove and was born and raised in Stockport, going to St Peter’s school on Lyndhurt Avenue, playing football for local team Apollo Juniors and attending scouts at 2nd Hazel Grove. Frankie wants people growing up in our neighbourhoods now to have the same opportunities she had. She knows our area like the back of her hand - and knows how much it matters to have a strong team of Lib Dem Councillors working hard supporting our residents.
Councillor Wendy Meikle
Wendy was born and brought up in Stockport, and has lived and worked here ever since. She was first elected to the Council in 2004 for Offerton ward, however due to boundary changes, Bosden Farm where she lives is now part of Hazel Grove ward. Wendy loves working together with residents, helping with housing issues, problems with schools, roads, footpaths, hedges, bins or any other issues local people may have. As Councillor and former Cabinet Member for Children, Famlies and Education, one of Wendy's priorities is still to make sure every young person in our area has the best chance to meet their potential.
Councillor Jake Austin
Jake lives in Hazel Grove with his husband Andy. They chose to make Hazel Grove their home because of the strong sense of community spirit here. Jake has spent years as an active campaigner working on local issues, and is proud to do his part to make our area an even better place to live. As a volunteer with the Friends of Torkington Park, he knows how important it is to protect our green spaces for future generations. He also knows how tough some of the challenges we all face really are. It is harder than ever for us all to deal with the cost of living, and young families who want to make our area their home are being locked out of the housing market. Jake is determined to be a positive force on the Council and help our community deal with these challenges and support those who need it.
