Lisa Smart MP and Cllr Shan Alexander at High Lane Post Office

Save post office services in High Lane

It has been announced that High Lane Post Office will close on 19th September 2024.  Government funding which helps to support post offices like High Lane's was cut by three-quarters by the last Conservative Government.

Local MP Lisa Smart and our Lib Dem councillors Shan Alexander and Colin MacAlister are working to find a solution, meeting the Post Office's regional managers, approaching other businesses in the village and trying to secure funding for the service.

Lisa says, "The post office service in High Lane is vital for the local community, and it is hugely concerning that cuts to funding have led to the current operators needing to stop the service.  We need to show the strength of feeling in the local community to make sure that Post Office Ltd and the other organisations involved pull out all the stops to get a new post office service up and running in High Lane as soon as possible."

I/we the undersigned support the campaign to save post office services in High Lane. We call on Government to provide proper funding for post offices in villages like High Lane, and Post Office Ltd to find an alternative location for the post office before the current post office closes.
