Councillor Colin MacAlister
Colin is an experienced campaigner and local business owner living with his family in the heart of the ward. He has dedicated 30 years of his life so far to being a councillor and serving our community. As the cabinet member for Economy and Regeneration on Stockport Council for the last year, he has been fighting to protect our local green spaces to make sure Marple South and High Lane remains a lovely place to live and work. Colin wants to continue making a positive difference to our area - taking action on anti-social behaviour and making sure we have sensible policies that work to tackle speeding.
Councillor Shan Alexander
Shan has been representing the people of Marple and High Lane for 20 years. She is humbled and honoured to work for our community, and has helped many residents with different issues over the years. It gives her satisfaction searching for answers and solutions to get the best results for our neighbourhoods. Shan is known locally for ‘getting the job done’. She regularly attends local Residents Association meetings and raised £32,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society and Stepping Hill hospital when she was previously Mayor of Stockport. She enjoys working hard and giving back to our community.
